Overview 

The Cause, Inc. is seeking a volunteer, based in North San Diego County, at 2 hours a week to process and report on bank deposits of donation checks and processing other mail that is received. (Our mailbox is located in Oceanside, near the intersection of  Oceanside Blvd & College Blvd.)

Description

The Mail and Deposit Clerk is in charge of timely, consistent processing and reporting on deposits for donation checks that come in by mail to our organization. It is imperative that the Mail and Deposit Clerk is available to pick up the mail, process and complete the bank deposits EVERY week before Tuesday at 3p, unless otherwise communicated. 

The Mail and Deposit Clerk will handle checks in a secure and confidential manner and provide excellent customer service by answering inquiries by The Cause staff, and helping to resolve any issues related to deposits. The Mail and Deposit Clerk will ensure accurate deposit slips and  properly disseminate the deposit documentation to Cause staff, as well as store in hard copy files. The Mail and Deposit Clerk will ensure accuracy and compliance with The Cause’s policies and procedures.

    • Proficient with email systems 
    • Knowledge of how to scan or create images from hard copy documents 
    • Strong technical & organizational skills to review and verify check deposits are accurate
    • Technical ability & equipment to scan and email documentation to the appropriate staff members
    • Strong attention to detail and basic math skills
