Children Chapel Church and Children Chapel School serve a densely populated Christian neighborhood (Christian by family history and national ID card) that is plagued with poverty, illiteracy, unemployment, and all kinds of addictions and social evils. Boys and young men, completely uneducated, wander in the streets with no life purpose.

CHILDREN CHAPEL: No, it’s not a ministry only to children—it began from children! In 1999, Shakeel was called to plant a church in this particular neighborhood. Even though it was a Christian area, the people were unchurched and unresponsive. For the first two years of Shakeel’s ministry, children were the only ones who responded. They met together every evening under a tent, and the children continually offered a few pennies and said, “Uncle, we will build a church here.” Shakeel guided them how to pray for their families and how to invite them to the Sunday services. Two years later, from that seed of faith, family members slowly started coming, people began repenting, and lives started to transform. Today, Children Chapel is a large congregation of all ages with multiple kinds of ministries. About 1200 people attend one of the four services every Sunday morning. Usually, churches generate children’s ministries, but our children’s ministry generated a church! There are regular testimonies of miracles, healings, and transformation. Yet, there is still so much more work to do in our neighborhood because of lack of education, unemployment, addictions, and social evils. We want to save them. SPECIAL PROJECTS:
We have just purchased more land next to our church, and we are excited to begin construction! We need your prayers and financial support for:
1. An additional building for Children Chapel School so we can educate more children.
2. A paved open area to be used for a playground, sports, and a basketball court.
(There is no place for our kids and youth to play, and boys hang out in the streets.)

CHILDREN CHAPEL SCHOOL:
Children Chapel School offers a pre-school to 10th grade education for poor children. In our neighborhood, there is no free public education. We believe that education is necessary to break the cycle of poverty, unemployment, and addiction. Many Children Chapel high school graduates have gotten further training and now have good jobs as nurses and medical technicians!
Currently we have about 250 students. Our tuition expense is less than $5 a month per child, plus books and a uniform, and our teachers work for ¼ the salary they could be receiving elsewhere. Yet, families with 3 or 4 children cannot afford it. With more resources, we can educate more children!
