Who We Are

Change Mentor Academy is a Christ-centered nonprofit initiative dedicated to honoring heroes, preserving history, and transforming lives.

We believe the good, bad, and ugly stories of history teach us lessons and stories of those who served, sacrificed, and gave their lives for others should never be forgotten. Through original artwork, historical research, books, educational curriculum, and community programs, we preserve the historic stories and the memory of fallen military members, law enforcement officers, firefighters, first responders, and other heroes, one community at a time.

But remembering the past is only part of our mission.

We use the lessons of courage, sacrifice, faith, leadership, perseverance, and service found in these stories to help prepare the next generation. Through mentoring, life-skills education, workforce development, leadership training, and career preparation, we seek to serve people who need an opportunity to build a better future, including young adults transitioning from foster care, veterans experiencing hardship, and others facing significant barriers to success.

Drawing upon decades of experience in education, leadership development, organizational improvement, workforce training, project management, and the arts, Change Mentor Academy connects trainings and history with hope and learning with opportunity.

We partner with businesses, churches, community organizations, educators, veterans’ groups, first responders, donors, and volunteers to make this work possible.

Our purpose is simple:
Honor the Heroes. Preserve Their Stories. Teach the Lessons. Equip People. Change Lives.

Above all, we seek to demonstrate the love of Christ through what we create, what we teach, and how we serve. Discipleship is one of our goals for mentoring change.

Who We Serve

Change Mentor Academy serves people, families, heroes, and communities by preserving the lessons of the past and using those lessons to help build stronger futures.

We serve young people and adults who need someone to believe in their potential and help them move forward, including young adults transitioning from foster care, veterans experiencing homelessness or hardship, individuals seeking employment or a new career direction, and others facing barriers to becoming financially independent and productive members of their communities.

We serve families of fallen heroes by helping ensure that the lives, service, sacrifice, and stories of their loved ones are remembered. Through art, historical research, books, interviews, exhibits, and educational curriculum, we seek to preserve these stories for children, families, schools, and future generations.

We serve students, educators, churches, and communities by developing materials that tell the good, the bad, and the ugly of our history. We believe history should do more than tell us what happened. It should help us understand what we can learn from it and challenge us to demonstrate greater courage, character, faith, leadership, compassion, and service today.

We also serve and partner with local businesses and organizations that love their communities and want to make a lasting difference in them. Businesses, churches, civic organizations, foundations, first responder organizations, veterans’ groups, educators, and individual donors can help us preserve their community’s history, honor its heroes, educate its children, mentor people who need guidance, and prepare individuals for meaningful careers.

For businesses especially, this creates an opportunity to do more than sponsor an event. It provides a way to invest in the community where their employees and customers live, work, raise their families, and build their futures.

How You Can Pray

Pray for the People We Serve: Pray for young adults transitioning from foster care, veterans experiencing hardship or homelessness, individuals seeking employment and stability, and others who need encouragement, mentoring, training, and a new opportunity. Pray that God will guide them toward hope, purpose, meaningful work, strong relationships, and a growing relationship with Christ.
Pray for the Heroes, Their Families, and the Stories We Preserve: Pray for the families whose loved ones served and sacrificed for others. Ask God to give us wisdom, sensitivity, and accuracy as we research their lives, create artwork, write their stories, and preserve their legacies. Pray that these stories will honor the families and teach future generations lessons of courage, sacrifice, faith, leadership, and service.
Pray for Mentors, Teachers, Volunteers, and Community Partners: Pray that God will bring the right people alongside this mission: mentors with compassionate hearts, skilled instructors, volunteers, churches, businesses, first responders, veterans' organizations, educators, and community leaders. Pray especially for people willing to invest not only their resources, but also their experience, relationships, talents, and time in the lives of others.
Pray for God's Provision and the Support: We Need Every story we preserve, painting we create, book we publish, curriculum we develop, person we train, and community we serve requires resources. Pray that God will provide the financial support, grants, business sponsorships, donors, facilities, equipment, technology, materials, and relationships necessary to accomplish the mission. Pray that local businesses and organizations that love their communities will see the opportunity to invest in work that can have an impact for generations.
Pray for God's Direction and a Lasting Kingdom Impact: Pray that we remain faithful to God's direction as Change Mentor Academy grows. Ask Him to open the right doors, close the wrong ones, provide wisdom for every decision, and keep Christ at the center of everything we do. Most importantly, pray that through our art, history, education, training, mentoring, and discipleship, people will experience the love of Christ and lives will be genuinely changed.
Why We Need Your Support

We cannot accomplish this mission alone. Every hero’s story requires research. Every painting must be created. Every book must be written and produced. Every curriculum must be developed. Every person we train or mentor requires people, resources, encouragement, and opportunity.

Your prayers are an essential part of that support. We also ask you to prayerfully consider whether God may be calling you to become involved through giving, sponsorship, volunteering, mentoring, providing expertise, making introductions, or opening doors within your community.

Together, we can honor the heroes, preserve their stories, teach the lessons of history, equip people for a better future, and demonstrate the love of Christ through service to others.
