For The One

Who we are:
The mission of For the One is in the name and it's twofold:
Everything we do is For the One who saved us and For the One He left the 99 to save (Matthew 25:34-40, Luke 15).
Our DNA is Jesus, living through us, using our hands and feet to care for those in need, so that when we share his name, they have already experienced his character through us-his body.
Our aim is to bring Heaven to Earth (Matthew 6:10), empower the Body of Christ to build itself up (Galatians 6:10), care for those He cares about (Psalm 82:3, Isaiah 1:17, James 1:27, Matthew 25:40), and share His good news with everyone (Matthew 28:18-20)!
We will achieve these goals through different campaign initiatives by raising funds for projects that will meet various needs in the community we are serving and teaching about Jesus along the way to those we are interacting with.
Who we serve:
Overall, we have a heart to serve both internationally and locally through different resources and initiatives that are focused on evangelism, discipleship, stewardship, and serving.
Initially, the community we will be serving is Lira, Uganda! We are partnered with a local pastor that we are working side by side with by providing resources to build up their community and reach them with the gospel. The area within Lira we are focused on is "Jinja Camp" which is a refugee camp for those escaping the genocide led by Joseph Kony. Our heart is to help restore this city by providing resources to empower their people to build their land and thus restore their souls by introducing them to the One who died for them!
We are currently raising $70,000 for our first campaign to achieve the following initiatives:
- Build a children's schoolhouse. There is already a children's program in place for the children living in mud huts, in the slums, who are financially unable to go to school. We teach basic English through the Bible as well as basic math. We share Bible stories and provide meals as we can. As of now the children meet outside under a tree. This is a problem especially during rainy season (which last about 7 months per year). During these months, the children have a hard time meeting. Our aim is to build a building that can withstand time and the elements and allow the program to grow to serve more children over time. Long-term we are going to set up child sponsorships as well as create a stipend to bless the teachers who faithfully serve freely at this time.
- Build a mission house. This will greatly open up opportunities to bring mission teams who will love and support the locals in the area. It will also be an asset for the pastor and his family to use to house people in need and their own family which will free up finances to be used to help more people in need.
How you can pray:
- For the Lord to reach as many lost as possible through us.
- For the Lord to lead us every step of the way and give us heavenly strategy.
- For the Lord to provide for us everything necessary to accomplish all he desires for us to do.
- For the Lord to sustain and grow the people and children in Lira.
- For the Lord to cover us and everyone involved with protection.
