On the Walk is a "come alongside" ministry that focuses on serving WITH frontline, nonprofit workers around the globe. Throughout the Gospels, we often see Jesus and the disciples ministering "on the walk" from city to city on their journey to Jerusalem. This work was often unplanned yet paramount and foundational for the men that would eventually take the Gospel to the nations. We've also found these moments to be extremely impactful not only for us, but for the leaders we serve.
Many of these frontline workers are independent and all alone as they give everything they have to fulfill the mission they've been given. We believe that these leaders are doing exactly what they're called to do but the loneliness and isolation is eventually a recipe for failure. On the Walk has served visions in Mozambique, the Philippines, and the Dominican Republic long term, and has been a safe place for many other missionaries and ministers globally.
In short, we love to work. And many of our partners love to work. But scripture mentions that "it is not good for man to be alone" and Jesus prayed over the unity of the Body of Christ. We exist to empower AND care. We can be both a safe place and a catalyst for ministries worldwide.
We serve those independent workers that may not fit into or be covered by a sending church or organization. Many of these leaders, though not all, are local leaders serving their home country. We have seen several instances that have required foreigners and expats to leave the country they're serving. Most recently the COVID pandemic forced many to leave without any knowledge of their return. While many chose to stay through lockdown, there was a group of people that never even had to process that decision.
These native leaders understand the people they serve better than anyone, but often lack the support and empowerment to make things sustainable. We just want to make sure their story is heard and that they can continue this work as long as God is calling them to do it despite a lack of resources or support.
- For local leaders to continue to serve and be the change their communities need
- For cultural favor for partnerships within the Global church
- For the right advocates to help spread the word about these incredible leaders
- For our family to be sensitive to what God is calling us in to
