Who We Are

My name is Joshua and my heart swells and shatters for this next generation of youth and children. To see them walk in the wholeness of their God-given identity, and the fullness of their royal inheritance, is the mountain I will die on. I have a burning passion for God’s Word and to see others come alive and encounter the Living God through His living Word. I also like to climb on tall rocks and spend as much time as I can around a table with those I love.

Before moving to Mae Sot, Thailand, I had spent the better part of a decade traveling the world, participating in international missions, and living within mission-minded communities with the intent of seeing His Kingdom come and His will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. Throughout all of my experiences within the countless places the Lord has taken me, I have seen first hand just how far God’s goodness will go to overtake the darkest of places and how He invites us to be an essential part of His solution to transform this broken world into wholeness. It was when He brought me here, along the border of Thailand and Burma, where He broke my heart the hardest. While looking upon the many babies and children who had been labeled with statelessness and abandonment along the border, and the countless lives displaced and uprooted by 70+ years of war and tyranny, I knew I couldn’t live with myself if I didn’t do something about it.

After wrestling with the Lord on how to find a solution to such atrocities, He placed me in the position I am in today. At the start of 2024, I joined the team here at Outpour to work directly with our Refuge Youth Home. It has been my life’s greatest honor serving and discipling these youth. I believe they, and many others like them, are a major part of God’s plan to heal and restore a hurt and bleeding nation. They are the Oaks of Righteousness spoken of in Isaiah 61 who will REBUILD, RAISE UP, and REPAIR, the desolations of many generations. It is my life’s mission to see these Oaks bloom.

Who We Serve

Outpour Family Foundation has spent the last 20 years serving the people who transcend the Thai/Myanmar border through educational training, social enterprises, community outreach, and child and family advocacy. To empower individuals and families to find belonging and restoration in Christ while creating eternal impact.

Here at Outpour, my primary role is Lead Advocate for our Refuge Youth Home. The Refuge is a youth safe home for boys and girls aged 10-19 who come from desperate situations in conflict zones across the border in Myanmar. This home provides a family structure and safe space for these youth to learn and grow in all areas of life. The heart behind this home is to:
– Equip youth with education and training to go back to poverty-stricken and war-torn areas in Burma to help their people
– Model Godly family, love, and values
– Obtain proper documentation for all who come into our care
– Establish a safe, nurturing environment
– Restore children to family and family to children

“Prepare to receive babies and children,” the Lord said to our team years ago. Not knowing the extent of what God meant, we have been preparing ever since—learning more about the need in our border town where trafficking of all kinds happens behind closed doors. We believe God is using us to help pave the way for future children to be rescued from the harsh reality of abandonment and the risks that coincide with it.

In February 2020, we located the right piece of land, signed a contract, and placed a down payment. Then, as we began fundraising, Covid hit the world. Yet in the midst of a global pandemic, we saw over $450,000 come in and officially paid for the land in full in June 2021! Only God!

Our land will be a safe space that legally and lovingly protects and advocates for the best interests of vulnerable and at-risk children (0-18), especially those who are stateless. Providing loving foster families, education, training, legal identification, as well as physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual support, the end goal is to see these children reunited with or legally placed in their forever families.

We want to see these children restored to family and family restored to them. We want to see them obtain proper legal identification that will allow them a better and brighter future. And we want to work alongside the governing authorities and court systems of Thailand to eventually see a reversal to the laws set in place. We long to see a nation transformed and see statelessness eradicated!

“That they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord that He may be glorified. And they shall rebuild the old ruins. They shall raise up the former desolations. And they shall repair the ruined cities, the desolations of many generations.”
-Isaiah 61:3-4
