Who we are:
Yireh, Casa de Refugio is a safe place to protect the childhood of our community in Burende, La Vega, Dominican Republic. Many of our leaders grew up in our programs and are now creating new programs and small groups to help the children of our community develop.
We provide fun and engaging community events and daily activities that allow kids to be kids in a safe environment. Whether it is after school homework help, summer camps, English camps, or just singing songs, the children of our community know that Yireh is a safe place!
Who we serve:
We serve the entire community of Burende and whoever else might be able to visit.
The community center is a safe place for families - and our programs, while focused on the children, provide space for parents and older siblings to come learn and enjoy alongside the kids. The family home should be a safe place, but in this country, can often be a source of pain and trials. We want to be a safe place for the whole family, but we start by protecting the childhood of our community.
How you can pray:
- Pray for the innocence of the children of our community, that they can be raised apart from abuse of any kind.
- Pray for leaders and the development of the youth in our community.
- Pray for Yet Set, as she often carries the weight of the community.
- Pray for the church that has been raised up and meets at the community center.
