Scriptue Speaks | Jason and Stephanie Weaver
Greece
We are working to train Bible translators and pastors in the original languages of Scripture, so we can eliminate Bible poverty around the world. We take students through a 9-month intensive Greek program, bringing them from no understanding of the original language of the New Testament to a working fluency that allows these students to read and speak Koine Greek. Our goal is to see each language have access to an accurate translation of the Bible. After the students graduate from our program, many of them will translate the Bible from the original Greek to their native tongue.
We are thrilled to be part of the process of getting the Bible into the hands of the world!
We serve students from all over the world:
~Bible translators
~Pastors and other church leaders
~Translation consultants
~And anyone interested in a deeper understanding of the Scriptures
We are only a year away from launching our New Testament Greek program for translators with Whole Word Institute. In order for this to happen, we need to be on site in Greece to prepare the necessary curriculum, materials, and facilities. We will be making this move this September and could really use your help to make it happen. Thanks!
Why are we moving there?
Big Picture
We will be setting up and running a new ‘school’ underneath the umbrella of Whole Word Institute. It will be called The School of Biblical Greek, or something like that. The core offering of the school will be an intensive, 9-month long course in Koine (Biblical) Greek. The student body will be made of people from all around the globe, most of whom are active bible translators or are in training to become bible translation consultants.
Roles
Jason will function as the Greek Director of Academic and Student Affairs, essentially the director of the school. He will work closely with Randall Buth, the Senior Research Fellow of Whole Word Institute, on building and executing the program (curriculum development, teaching, teacher coordination, etc.).
Stephanie’s role will be to function as the registrar of the Greek school. This will include executing most of the administrative aspects of the operation of the school. This is her area of gifting, and is the same type of role that Stephanie filled in both of the schools that we served at during our 20+ years with Ethnos360.
- This program is new, so please pray for us to develop the curriculum to best serve the students
- Pray for a good location for the course
